美术与设计学院前身为开办于1992年的成都大学设计艺术系。现有在校国内外本科生、研究生共计1900余人，留学生数量居国内同类艺术院校前列。学院有4个本科专业和2个硕士学位授权点。本科视觉传达设计专业为国家一流专业，绘画专业为四川省一流专业，产品设计为五星级专业，环境设计为四星级专业。

The Academy of Arts and Design dates back to 1992 when the art major was established. It has more than 1900  undergraduates and postgraduates altogether at home and abroad. The number of its oversea students has ranked among the top of similar art colleges and universities in China. It has 4 undergraduate majors and 2 master’s degree programs. Of all undergraduate majors, visual communication design is a national first-rate major, painting a first-rate major in Sichuan Province, product design a 5-star major, and environmental design a 4-star major.

学院师资力量雄厚，现有教职工100余人，其中副教授以上职称教师40余人，有博士、博士在读教师40余人，双师型教师70余人，四川省学术和技术带头人后备人选4人，全国美协会员20余人。

The academy has a strong faculty with over 100 teaching and administrative staff. Among them, there are more than 40 associate professors, 40 Doctoral and Phd candidate teachers, 70 teachers with double qualifications, 4 candidates for academic and technical leadership in Sichuan Province, and more than 20 members of China Artists Association.

学院研究成果丰富，近三年学院获得国家社会科学基金项目和国家艺术基金项目11项，教育部、四川省哲学社会科学规划项目17项，厅局级项目64项，获得四川省、成都市哲社奖4项，四川省教学成果奖2项，获得德国红点产品设计奖30余项，发表论文400余篇，出版专著、教材60余部。

The academy has fruitful research achievements. Over the recent three years, the academy has accomplished 11 National Social Sciences Founding Projects and National Art Founding Projects, 17 Philosophy Social Science Planning Projects of the Ministry of Education and Sichuan Province, 64 Department and Bureau Level Projects. It has received 4 Philosophy Social Science Awards of Sichuan Province and Chengdu City, 2 Teaching Achievement Awards of Sichuan Province, and over 30 Red Dot Product Design Awards of German. More than 400 research papers, 60 monographs and textbooks have been published.

学院拥有国家级教学科研基地3个：实践教育基地-成都大学许燎源现代设计艺术博物馆实践教育基地、协同育人基地-成都大学火猴互动科技产学合作协同育人基地、研学基地-中国工艺美术学会研学基地；省级平台4个：四川省重点中华文化研究院-成都大学传统工艺研究院、中国非物质文化遗产继承人研修培训基地-传统工艺与美术高级研修基地、四川省美术家协会水粉水彩艺委会、四川省美术家协会综合材料艺委会；市级平台5个：成都大学彭州市传统工艺工作站、传统工艺百校联盟、成都市美术家协会动漫艺委会、天府陶瓷博物馆、成都东盟美术馆。

The academy has 3 national teaching and research bases. They are Practical Educational Base of XLY MOMA of Chengdu University, Collaborative Educational Base of Fire Monkey Interactive Technology Industry of Chengdu University and Combination of Production and Learning, and Research and Learning Base of Chinese Arts and Crafts Institute. The academy has 4 provincial platforms. They are Sichuan Province Key Chinese Culture Research Institute-Traditional Arts and Crafts Research Institute of Chengdu University, Training Base for Inheritors of China's Intangible Cultural Heritage-Advanced Training Base for Traditional Arts and Crafts, Gouache and Watercolor Art Committee of Sichuan Artists Association, and Comprehensive Material Art Committee of Sichuan Artists Association. The academy has 5 municipal platforms. They are Traditional Crafts Workstation of Pengzhou city, Chengdu University, Allied Hundred Schools to Study Traditional Crafts, Animation and Cartoon Art Committee of Chengdu Artists Association, Tianfu Ceramic Museum and Chengdu ASEAN Art Museum.

学院加强产学研结合，助推服务地方。教师创新团队先后完成“极草”“谭木匠”“宏基木业”“劲浪”“水井坊”“五粮液”“剑南春”“舍得”“黄鹤楼”等品牌策划和包装设计，完成西藏拉萨城标雕塑“高原之宝”、甘肃定西市雕塑“新莽权衡”、剑南湖开发区、九寨沟旅游形象设计、中国岩盐博物馆策划与设计、广东珠海唐家湾国家历史文化名镇文化策划、中国金钟奖纪念广场主体艺术装置设计、成都2021年世界大学生夏季运动会官方特许商品零售店设计等重要项目，产生了较大的社会效益和经济效益。

Emphasizing the integration of producing, learning and researching, as well as local service, innovative teams of teachers completed brand planning and package designs for "Very Grass", “Carpenter Tan”, “Grand Base Resources”, “Focal”, "Shuijingfang liquor", "Wuliangye liquor", "Jian’nanchun liquor", "She De liquor", and "Yellow Crane Tower liquor”. In addition, they completed sculptures such as “The Treasure of Plateau” of Lhasa’s landmark, and “Measure instrument in Emperor Wang Mang’s Xin Dynasty” in Dingxi city, Gansu province. They also accomplished important projects, such as image designs for Jian’nanhu economic technical development zone and Jiuzhaigou valley tourism, planing and design for China Rock Salt Museum, Cultural planning for Tangjiawan, the National Famous Historic and Cultural Town, located in Zhuhai city, Guangdong Province, main art installation design for the Memorial Plaza of China Golden Bell Award, and Design of Official Franchised Merchandise Retail Shop for the Chengdu2021 FISU World University Games Summer, bringing good social and economic benefits.

学院在围绕成都市经济建设服务的发展目标下，将继续保持和发扬传统，加强艺术与产业的结合，不忘初心继往开来，牢记使命再创辉煌。

 Centering on the development goal of economic construction service of Chengdu City, the academy will continue to maintain and promote the tradition, and strengthen the integration of art and industry, remaining true to our aspiration to inherit the cause and pioneer, and keeping our mission firmly in mind to create greater success.
